Evelyn R.  Kubasiak
Evelyn R. Kubasiak, 101, a lifelong resident of Bronson, MI went to her eternal rest on Friday, April 29, 2016.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, May 5, 2016 at 10:30 A.M. at St. Mary’s of Assumption Church with Rev. Richard Fritz officiating. Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday, May 4, 2016 from 4 – 8 P.M., with the Rosary to begin at 7:30 P.M., at Dutcher Funeral Home in Bronson.

She was born December 26, 1914 to Casimir and Julia (Herman) Ross. She married Edward (“Eddie”) B. Kubasiak on May 15, 1933. He predeceased her in death on January 30, 1982. In addition to her husband, she was also predeceased by her siblings Marion Ross, Harold Ross, and Edna Kibiloski.

Her family has a long history in the Bronson area. As a granddaughter of George & Pearl Herman and John & Frances Nawrocki and through her over 20 aunts & uncles and over 50 cousins counted the Nevereski, Nowicki, Kibiloski, Tobolski, Smith, Smoker, Bogart, Yesh, Thilman, McCure families as part of hers.

Evelyn was very active in the community. For nearly 40 years she and her husband owned and managed the grocery business, Eddie’s Red & White on Chicago Avenue. She was on the formation committee that established the Polish Festival Days and is a past Queen of the Festival. She was active in St. Mary’s, including the Rosary Society, and volunteered in many civic activities.

Evelyn is survived by her children Conrad (Georgia) Kubasiak of Elkhart, IN; Gerald (Margaret) Kubasiak of Chicago, IL; Daniel (Deborah) Kubasiak of Glencoe, IL; and Kathy (Brent) Holaway of Osceola, IN and her grandchildren Gretchen Kubasiak, Kristin Kubasiak, John Kubasiak, Paul Kubasiak, Sarah Holaway and Paul Holaway.
