Marjorie L.  Keeslar
Marjorie Lucile Keeslar, 96, of Coldwater went to be with her Lord and Savior Monday, April 18, 2016 at the Community Health Center of Branch County.

A memorial service will take place at 11:00 AM Thursday, April 21, 2016 at Bethel Gilead Community Church with Pastor Jim Erwin officiating. A private burial will take place at North Gilead Cemetery prior to the funeral. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 20, 2016 from 3:30 – 8:00 PM at Dutcher-Kolcz Funeral Home in Bronson.

Marjorie, the sixth of eight children, was born May 24, 1919 in California Township, to Roy and Florence (Weatherwax) Paul. She married Richard Keeslar on December 3, 1938 and they enjoyed 64 years together. He preceded her in death on December 23, 2002. Marjorie was her husband’s partner in farming and they were inducted into the Michigan Hall of Fame in 2000. In the 40’s, she was successful in leading the re-opening of the Cranson Church. She was a co-founder and leader of the Cransonettes & Jets 4-H Club for many years.

In 1964, she became a baker and then head cook at Bronson High School for the next twenty years. Marjorie was a past member of the Farm Bureau, Michigan State Extension, Marsp and still active in the “Country Couples”. Marjorie was a very active member of Bethel-Gilead Community Church and Women’s Fellowship. She was a wonderful cook and famous for her pies, chocolate chip cookies and “Nanny Bread”. Her true joy in life was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Marjorie looked forward to all the major holidays, as her family all gathered to share a big meal and enjoy the day together. She will be missed by many.

Mrs. Keeslar is survived by her daughters Charlene (Bruce) Kaufman of Quincy, Linda (Larry) Grate of Sturgis, and Carolyn “Jo” (Lynn) Mayer of Bronson; 11 grandchildren and 32 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; 7 siblings, and one great grandchild.
