Obituary for Alice M. Rubley

Alice M.  Rubley
Alice Marie Rubley, 87, of Coldwater, passed away on Saturday, March 19, 2016 at Maple Lawn.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, March 24, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater with Pastor Jeff Bream from Northview Christian Church officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Girard. The family will receive friends, prior to the service, beginning at 9:00 AM at Dutcher Funeral Home.
Alice was born September 3, 1928 to Henry C. and Belva (Sunday) Carney in Battle Creek, MI. Her father died when she was very young and she was raised by her mother and step father, Eugene Ray. She married Robert M. Rubley on June 17, 1955, he preceded her in death on September 11, 1988.
Alice worked for Quality Springs and Bronson Specialties in her early years and had bartended at various establishments. She spent many years in California working for the Sonoma Golf Course before coming back to the Branch Co. area, where she managed the Brockville Commons in Fremont, IN before her retirement.
Alice was a member of the Elks in California, Eagles in Coldwater and very active in the Bronson American Legion, where she had served as Past President of the Auxiliary. She enjoyed bowling, playing cards and traveling. Alice had a great love of music, especially Patsy Cline and Bobby Vinton and a passion for dance. Alice was a people person who loved to socialize. She treasured her family most and adored her grandchildren.
Alice is survived by her children Kathy (Dave) Pike of Ceresco, Keith (Trudy) Rubley of Burr Oak, Robert (Joy) Rubley of Coldwater, her son-in-law Jon McGee of Huntington Beach, CA, her grandchildren Eric, Rob, Terry, Kayla, Tiffany, Russell and Brian and many great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her daughter Vonda McGee, her brother Dale (Pricilla) Carney and sisters Joyce (Lyone) Hammond and Barbara Wiler.
