Condolence: We are very sorry to hear about Daryl's passing. Way to soon. Sorry we will not make the visitation or funeral as we are spending winter's in Arizona. He never got to enjoy his retirement, he had looked forward to. It was a pleasure to have worked with Daryl at Abbott Labs. He was a very caring and understanding person. After my retirement, I enjoyed helping Daryl on his farm when ever I could. We had told each other that we were going to get together last year. That never happened, something I will regret. A great friend that we will always remember.

Condolence From: Larry Ziniel
Condolence: I was deeply saddened to hear of Daryl's passing. Like so many of his co-workers at Abbott, it was always a treat for me to see Daryl's smiling face when I visited the plant. I have fond memories of spending time chatting with him and comparing notes about our favorite college teams. Daryl was not only an acknowledged expert in his field and a helpful ally, but he was also a calming influence on everyone around him. At times like this it is difficult to understand how people like Daryl can be taken from us at such a young age, but I am sure that he is reaping the rewards for a life well lived up in heaven. My thoughts are with all of his friends and family. Larry Ziniel Columbus, Ohio

Condolence: Daryl was one of the first people I met when I came to work at the Sturgis plant. I quickly learned he was always willing to share his wisdom with anyone who asked, so I asked. We spent quite a bit of time together over the next few years and he happily answered my endless questions. I could always count on Daryl to be a sounding board for ideas as well as a voice of reason. Some of my fondest memories are sitting in his office solving the problems of the world. I am proud to have known Daryl as a teacher, mentor and most importantly, a friend. He was taken from us much too soon, leaving a hole in many lives which can never be filled.
