Rebecca S. Walters, 72, of Coldwater, passed away on Monday, November 23, 2015 at St. Joseph Hospital in Ft. Wayne, IN.
The funeral service will be Monday, November 30, 2015 at 12 Noon at Union Church in Quincy with Pastors Mark Case and Brad Parrish officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery in Coldwater. Visitation will be Sunday, November 29, 2015 from 1-4:00 PM at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater.
Becky was born April 29, 1943 in Jackson, MI to Robert & Elizabeth (Newell) Searing. She married Everett E. Walters on February 14, 1960 in Coldwater. He preceded her in death on October 5, 1990.
Becky had worked for 25 years in the dietary department as head cook for the Community Health Center of Branch County, retiring in 2008. She had previously worked at the Coldwater Regional Center and Franklin School.
Mrs. Walters was a member of Union Church in Quincy and very active with the Branch Interfaith Network. She was very active in the lives of her children and had coached girls, summer league softball for many years. Becky enjoyed reading, traveling, fishing and inner tube floating. She was a dedicated wife and mother and especially enjoyed the time she spent with her family.
Becky is survived by her children Bryan (Ann)Walters, Dawn White all of Coldwater, her sisters Beverly “Penny” Green, Vickie Searing both of Coldwater, brother Barry (Rita) Searing of Gillette, WY, her grandchildren Michelle (Shawn) Callahan of Linden, NC, Danielle White of Coldwater, Patrick (Jasman) Walters of Edgerton, OH, Matthew (Suzi) Walters of Coldwater, Amber (Dustin) Hyliard of Coldwater, her dear friend Imogene Manning of Coldwater, 8 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was also preceded in death by her brothers David, Billy and Bobby Searing.
