Donald “Don” E. Hutchison, 77, of Coldwater passed away on Monday, November 23, 2015 at Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne.
A funeral service will take place at 12:00 Noon on Wednesday, November 25, 2015 at Northview Christian Church with Pastor Jeff Breem officiating. Interment will follow at Wilson Cemetery in Ovid Township. Visitation will be prior to the service beginning at 10:00 AM.
Donald was born May 27, 1938 to Earl and Naomi (Brown) Hutchison in West Unity, OH. On September 5, 1959 he married the love of his life Verna Parsons in Williams Center, OH. Don retired from Defiance Precision Products after working for Edgerton Manufacturing for 24 years. After retirement, Don and Verna moved to Coldwater.
Don was a man of faith and a member of Northview Christian Church and a former member of Edgerton Church of Christ in Ohio. He was a loving family man with many interests. Don enjoyed fishing, watching sports, and playing cards, especially euchre. He was a very friendly man who never knew a stranger. Don was famous for his saying “minding my own business, and trying to get along”. He will be missed by many.
Mr. Hutchison is survived by his wife of 56 years, Verna Hutchison of Coldwater; his children Danny (Brenda) Hutchison of Coldwater, Mark (Julie) Hutchison of Rolle, Switzerland, Greg (Shelly) Hutchison, Kim (Denny) Nye, and Jami (Brenda) Hutchison all of Bryan, OH; his brother Darrell (Lois) Hutchison of Reading; 15 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren, and 2 beloved cats. He was preceded in death by his parents, his step-father T.O. May; his sister Barbara Richards; and his niece Cindy Porter.
