Obituary for Robert C. Rubley

Robert C. ( Bob) Rubley, 84, of Coldwater, passed away on Sunday, October 18, 2015 at Masonville House.
The funeral service will be Thursday, October 22, 2015 at 11:00 AM at the First Baptist Church in Coldwater with Pastor David Pierce officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday, October 21, 2015 from 2-8:00 PM at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater.
Robert was born August 20, 1931 in Coldwater, MI to Clare & Marjorie (Brown) Rubley. He married Marian L. Russell on September 3, 1950 in Coldwater.
Mr. Rubley served in the Michigan National Guard from 1951 – 1958, during the Korean Conflict. He worked at many local companies but spent most of his career as the superintendent of the CBPU Power Plant from 1964 until his retirement on December 31, 1991.
Robert was a member of the First Baptist Church, the Coldwater Eagles and Elks Club, where he had received outstanding Elk in 1988-1989 and Elk of the Year in 1986-1987. He had been a former member of UCT and enjoyed bowling on a league for many years. Bob, along with his wife Marian, enjoyed dancing with the Merry Mixers Square Dance Club and spending the winter months in Florida. He spent many years enjoying life on the lake, especially boating and was an avid collector of eagles.
Robert is survived by his wife Marian, his children Philip (Marcia) Rubley of Addison, Douglas (Lucy) Rubley of Bradenton, FL, Gregory (Susan) Rubley, Diane (Terry) Shiery all of Coldwater, Jeff (Maria) Rubley of Allen Park, MI, his grandchildren Rachel (Alan) Ort, Robin (Brandon) Arnold, Ryan (Sky) Rubley, Patrick Rubley, Nichole (Dan) Schultz, Marcus (Lauren) Rubley, Christopher (Rochelle) Longrey, Cortney Longrey, Cody Longrey, Jeffrey Rubley and Hunter Rubley. Step grandchildren Daniel, Stephen, Patrick, Lucy Ann & Kate Weaver, Michael Shiery, Bradley Shiery and Mindy (Jake) Smith, great grandchildren Jacob, Micah, Lydia, Lucas, Ella, Ethan, Keegan and Tristan. Bob was preceded in death by an infant brother Tommy Joe Rubley.
Memorials may be directed to Southern Care Hospice or the First Baptist Church.
