Obituary for Glenna Palmateer

Glenna  Palmateer
Glenna P. Palmateer, 81, of Coldwater, passed away on Thursday, September 3, 2015 surrounded by her family at home.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, September 10, 2015 at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater with Pastor Bill Wilson, Gospel Lighthouse Church officiating. Interment will be at Lakeview Cemetery in Quincy. Visitation will take place on Wednesday, September 9, 2015 from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 PM at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater.

Glenna was born September 18, 1933 to Laurence and Opal (Fisher) Aikman in Vandalia, Ohio. She graduated from Quincy High School in 1951. Glenna married Ross Palmateer on March 25, 1953 in Angola, Indiana.

Glenna and her husband Ross opened in 1959 Reliable Washer & Appliance Service in Coldwater, she retired in 2014.

She was a member of Good News Bible Center in Coldwater and then at Gospel Lighthouse Church in Coldwater. She was also a member of the Branch Area Women’s Gathering and the Gideon’s International.

Glenna enjoyed traveling the United States with Ross in their RV, knitting, crocheting, puzzles, teaching Sunday school and volunteering her time with Coldwater Little League. She was especially known for her huge heart and love of people, she was always feeding the neighborhood kids, mailmen and her family.

She was survived by her children Brian (Mary Kay) Palmateer of Juneau, Alaska, Robert (Cheryl Pitts) Palmateer of Coldwater and Phillip (Tammy Bauer) Palmateer of Quincy; her grandchildren Amanda (Shane) McCavit, Ryan Grayson, Kasie (John) Goodman, Dawn Palmateer, Meagan Palmateer and Keegan (Taryn Renfro) Palmateer ; her 6 great grandchildren; her brother Don (Faye) Aikman of Arcanum, Ohio and her sister Ruth (Carmine) Santoro of Dayton, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ross, her son Roger Palmateer, 2 sisters and 2 brothers.
