Wesley "Pork"  Kosier
Wesley “Pork” Kosier, 75 of Coldwater, passed away on Monday, August 24, 2015 in Ft. Wayne, IN.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, August 28, 2015 at 1:30 PM at St. Charles Borromeo Church in Coldwater with Most Reverend Mark Vyverman V.F. officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery, with military honors provided by the American Legion Drill Team. Visitation will be Thursday, August 27, 2015 from 2-8:00 PM, with the Rosary to begin at 7:00 PM, at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater.
Wes was born March 24, 1940 in Branch County to Olin & Evelyn (Hefflinger) Kosier, they both preceded him in death. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps and married Carol Jasper on November 10, 1984 in Coldwater.
Mr. Kosier worked for Michigan Gas Utilities for over 30 years, retiring in 2003.
He was a member of St. Charles Church, where he belonged to the K of C, Coldwater Eagles, VFW and the Reading American Legion. Pork enjoyed bowling on a league and was an avid sprint car racing fan. He was part of the pit crew for Auto Value Super Sprints, traveling all over the country to races for many years. Pork was a great friend and neighbor. He enjoyed taking care of his and neighbors’ yards in both the summer and winter.
Pork is survived by his wife Carol, his children Wesley (Olga) Kosier of Santa Rosa, CA, Lisa (Chuck Duncan) Kosier of Quincy, Dawn (Sean O’Connor) Kosier of Coldwater, his siblings Gary (Kate) Kosier of Goshen, IN, Nancy Duck of Ramer, TN, Perry Hastings of Warsaw, IN, Doug Hastings of Coldwater, his grandchildren Emily, Devin, Wesley, Will and Kayla and many nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be directed to Animal Aid of Branch County or St. Charles Boiler Fund.
