Dorothy  Kubasiak
Dorothy Louise Kubasiak, 91, formerly of Bronson, passed away on Monday, August 17, 2015 at Vista Springs in Grand Rapids.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, August 25, 2015 at 10:30 AM at St. Mary of Assumption Church in Bronson with Rev. Fr. Richard Fritz officiating. Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Bronson. Visitation will be held on Monday, August 24, 2015 from 2-4 & 6-8 at Dutcher- Kolcz Funeral Home in Bronson, with the Rosary to be recited at 7:00 PM.

Dorothy was born January 27, 1924 to William and Julia (Barkowski) Bykowski in Matteson Township. Dorothy married Leonard J. Kubasiak on April 25, 1942 in Bronson and together they celebrated over 70 years of marriage. He preceded her in death on September 28, 2012. Dorothy worked for many years at Douglas Manufacturing before retiring in 1976.

Dorothy was a very religious person and a long-time member of St. Mary of Assumption Church in Bronson where she also served on the Rosary Society. She also was a member of the Bronson VFW Auxiliary, where she enjoyed participating in Bronson parades. Dorothy always put her family first. Dorothy prided herself on having a clean home and also enjoyed an occasional shopping trip. She will be remembered as a hardworking woman who enjoyed spending time at home and was always busy.

Mrs. Kubasiak is survived by her daughters, Camille (Pete) Hess of Cadillac and Lorie (Dana) Hill of Greenville; her sisters Thressa Phinney and Jane Shafer both of Battle Creek; her sister-in-laws Peggy Bykowski of Brighton and Evelyn Kubasiak of South Bend, IN; her brother-in-law Elmer Starrett of Paragould, AR; her grandchildren Lisa (Tom) Dunn, Jennifer (Brian) Shepler, Jessica (Paul) Helsel all of Manton, Alexa, Morgan and Ryan Hill all of Greenville, her great grandchildren Austin, Allison, Brad, Alisa, Lane, Blake and Hayden; and many nieces & nephews. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters Louise Gladstone and Margaret Starrett; and her brother Frank Bykowski.
