Rose Pauline Mecklenburg, 88 of Bronson passed away on Friday, May 22, 2015 at Thurston Woods Village in Sturgis.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM, Wednesday, May 27, 2015 at St. Mary’s of Assumption Church in Bronson with Rev. Fr. Richard Fritz officiating. Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Bronson. Visitation will take place on Tuesday, May 26, 2015 from 2:00 - 4:00 & 6:00 - 8:00 PM with a Rosary at 7:00 PM at Dutcher-Kolcz Funeral Home in Bronson.

Rose was born August 11, 1926 to Anthony and Marie (DeLuca) Bonfiglio in Elkhart, IN. Shortly after graduation from high school, she married the love of her life, William Mecklenburg on September 17, 1946. Rose spent her adult life living in the Bronson area where she was very active in the community.

Rose was a member of St. Mary’s of Assumption Church, the American Legion and VFW Auxiliary, and served as Chaplain for the American Legion for 26 plus years. She served as Grand Marshall of the Polish Festival Parade and walked every year, even in a cast against doctor’s orders. Rose liked helping the local charities by fundraising, selling tickets & poppies for over 50 years. She enjoyed playing bingo, gambling, dancing, and entertaining people. Mostly she relished her family, especially her grandchildren.

Mrs. Mecklenburg is survived by her daughter Robin (Mike) Losinski of Bronson; her son Jan Mecklenburg of Bronson; her grandchildren Sonya (Greg) Haerr, Steven (Darcy) Clouse, Matthew (Pam) Losinski, Michelle (Shawn) Kriser, Ryan (Rayshell) Losinski, Cheryl Mann, Jeremey Christopher-Mecklenburg, Walter Christopher, and Carl Christopher; 10 great grandchildren, and 1 great, great grand-daughter; her son-in-law Perry Robinson; lots of nieces & nephews; special friends Deb Brundt and John Lindeman. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband William Mecklenburg; her daughters Kimberly Frye and Carol Ann Robinson; her son Terry Mecklenburg; and her brother Albert Myers.
