Obituary for David F. Renshaw

David F. Renshaw, 83, of Coldwater, passed away on Sunday, April 19, 2015 at his home.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday, April 22, 2015 at 11:00 AM at The United Methodist Church in Coldwater with Pastor Steve Young officiating. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 21, 2015 from 2-4 & 6-8:00 PM at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater.
David was born March 20, 1932 in Coldwater to Fred & Gladys (Moore) Renshaw.
He graduated from Coldwater High School in 1950 and served in the US Navy from 1951-1955, during the Korean War. David attended Michigan State University and graduated from Adrian College in 1960. He attended Garrett Theological Seminary and served as Pastor for Whitehall Methodist Church near Muskegon. Mr. Renshaw worked for a short time at a Methodist Home for delinquent boys in Rockford, IL.
David married Vera Cox on July 28, 1961 in Coldwater. He worked for Quality Springs for 30 years, after retiring he worked in the Holbrook Heritage Room at the Library.
Mr. Renshaw was skilled in leatherwork. He enjoyed history and was passionate about the Underground Railroad and studying and sharing his family genealogy.
David is survived by his wife Vera, his sons Michael (Lisa) Renshaw and their daughter MacKenzie, Joe (Dawn) Renshaw, his sisters Rosemary Davidson, Virginia (Fred) Snell, Carol Graske, Nancy Renshaw, his grandchildren Joseph Renshaw and his mother Laurie Barker-Rose, Jasmine Renshaw, Lee Martin, Barrett Martin and their mother Sharla Martin Renshaw and step grandchildren Lauren, Abigail and Connor Swick. He was preceded in death by brother-in-laws Russ Davidson and Chic Graske.
