Obituary for Harold J. House

Harold James House, 82 of Coldwater passed away at his home on Sunday, April 12, 2015 while surrounded by family.

A funeral service will take place at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater with Pastor Harold Jewel from the Oasis of Love Family Church officiating. Harold will be cremated after the services and a private family burial will take place at a later date in Riverside Cemetery in Clinton, MI. Visitation will be Tuesday, April 14 2015 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Dutcher Funeral Home.

Harold was born October 4, 1932 to Harold and Marguerite (Hoisington) in Clinton, MI. He graduated from high school and then later proudly served his country in the U.S. Marines from 1954 to 1956. On June 20, 1959, Harold married the love of his life, Linda Denton in Brooklyn, MI. He worked for United Technologies for over 30 years, retiring in 1999.

Harold was a man of faith and had been attending Saginaw Valley Community Church prior to returning to Coldwater. He was a family first husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Harold enjoyed reading in his spare time and also collected business cards. He will be remembered as an outgoing, jovial man who never met a stranger.

Mr. House is survived by his wife of 55 years, Linda House of Coldwater; his daughters Sarah (Charlie) Riddle of Quincy and Melissa Rickett of Coldwater; his son James (Clara) House of Saginaw; his sister-in-law Margaret House of Adrian; his grandchildren Joyce Adams, Corey Henderson, Jimmy Adams, Allen House, Charles Henderson III, Carissa House, Russell Henderson; Amanda Rickett, Melinda House; Joshua Rickett, Heather House, Julia Toman, and Shyla Riddle; 19 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his daughters Dawn Marie Adams and Laurie Marguerite Henderson; and his brother Ronald Arthur House.
