Obituary for Charles L. Gallop

Charles L. Gallop, 86, of Union City, passed away on Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at his home.
The funeral service will be Monday, April 13, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater with Rev. Cary Gallop officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery. Military Honors will be presented by the American Legion #52 Drill Team and the Patriot Guard. Visitation will be Sunday, April 12, 2015 from 2-7:00 PM at Dutcher Funeral Home.
Charles was born January 26, 1929 in Coldwater, MI to George & Clara (Harmon) Gallop. He served in the U.S. Navy and was a veteran of the Korean War.
Mr. Gallop worked most of his life as a mechanic. He worked for Standard Oil, G & G Dodge and Great Plains Gas Co. The past ten years of his career he worked with B&B Vending. Chuck belonged to the Crosley Automobile Club and loved to restore and collect classic cars and antique tractors. He was an outdoorsman who enjoyed gardening and spending time on the lake, especially on the pontoon.
Charles is survived by his children Sandra (Jerry) Watson of Sturgis, Beverly (Kevin) Griggs, Michael (Janice) Gallop, Raymond (Julie) Gallop all of Coldwater, Teal (Jeff) Andres of Bryan, OH, Charles Gallop, Jr. of Bowling Green, KY, his sister Betty Taylor of Coldwater, his grandchildren Stacey (Matt) Keim, Jason (Mackenzie) Watson, Aaron McGlothlen, Sydney Gallop, Alex Chapa, Lance Gallop, Michael Patterson, Craig Sampson, Brad (Jennifer) Sampson and 12 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his former wife Dorris (Travelbee) Rummel, his daughter Marian Patterson, sister Mildred Riggs and half-brothers Roland & Vaughn Gallop.
