Evan W. Thomas, 77, of Coldwater, passed away on Saturday, March 28, 2015 at Maple Lawn Medical Care Facility.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at 3:00 PM at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater with Pastor David Anderson officiating. Military honors will be presented by the American Legion, Post #52, Drill Team. The family will receive friends, prior to the service, beginning at 1:00 PM at the funeral home.
Evan was born May 7, 1937 in Holmes County, OH to Clyde and Ida (Jones) Thomas. He served in the US Army and was a veteran of the Korean War. Evan married Bonnie Cramer on May 6, 1960, she preceded him in death on April 3, 1998.
Mr. Thomas worked for Dana Weatherhead in Angola for over 30 years. He was a collector of antique hit-n-miss motors and an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed snowmobiling, hunting, fishing and trapping fox. Most of all, Evan enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, especially at Dragon Lake.
Evan is survived by his sons Jeff Thomas of Bronson, Doug (Amy) Thomas of Coldwater, brother Robert Thomas of Fremont, IN, sisters Vivian Holdredge of Grand Rapids, Sharon Wilder of Angola, IN, Linda McCarty of Fremont, IN, and his grandchildren Jeremy Thomas, Chase, Nolan and Wyatt Thomas. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his son Danny Thomas, his brother Paul Thomas and sister Donna Mullen.
