Lloyd L Quimby, 88 of Coldwater passed away on Thursday, March 26, 2015 at Maple Lawn Medical Care Facility.
A funeral service will take place at 11:00 AM on Monday, March 30, 2015 at Dutcher Funeral Home with Pastor Loree Grinnell from Salem United Church of Christ in Albion officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be prior to the funeral beginning at 10:00 AM at Dutcher Funeral Home.
Lloyd was born August 6, 1926 to Orville and Neva (Williams) Quimby in Quincy. He married the love of his life, Vivian Gibson on August 26, 1944 at the family farm in Quincy. Lloyd worked as a truck driver for many years, owning two trucks for steel hauling.
Lloyd enjoyed hunting & fishing. He had a life-long need to work on the family farm. Lloyd will be remembered as a hard-working, patient, and giving man. He loved to spend time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Mr. Quimby is survived by his wife of 70 years, Vivian Quimby of Coldwater; his sons Lloyd M. (Nila) Quimby of Quincy and Dennis M. Quimby of Coldwater; his special adopted children Dan (Tara) Richmond of Venice, FL; his sister Bernadine Grinnell of Jackson; his grandchildren Michele NoBach, Jason (Teresa) Quimby, Damian (Amy) Quimby, and Lloyd A. (Michelle) Quimby; 10 great grandchildren and 3 great, great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his son Daniel Quimby; his grandson John Quimby; his great grandson Matthew Quimby; seven brothers and sisters.
