John D. Denbrock, 80, of Coldwater, passed away on Sunday, January 18, 2015 in St. Johns, MI.
A private graveside service will be held at Oak Grove Cemetery in Coldwater. The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 22, 2015 from 5-8:00 PM at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater.
John was born May 23, 1934 in Coldwater, MI to Frank & Josephine (Burns) Denbrock. He served in the U.S. Army and was a veteran of the Korean War. John married Wilma Anderson on February 9, 1957 in Angola, IN, she preceded him in death on August 5, 2004.
Mr. Denbrock worked for Michigan Gas Utilities for 38 years, retiring in 1994. He was a lifelong member of the V.F.W. where he was a part of the “Cootie” club. John belonged to the American Legion, post #52, serving with the Drill Team for 10 years and in the 40 et 8. John enjoyed time with his family and living life to its fullest.
John is survived by his sons Doug Dosier of Coldwater, John Denbrock of Howell, his daughters Cindy (Ken) Klein of Coldwater, Claudia Denbrock of Ann Arbor, Susan (Earl) Bennett of Coopersville, Kristie Denbrock of DeWitt, his sisters Marlene Knapp, Patricia Holman, Sharon Otis, 10 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. In addition to his wife, he was also preceded in death by his brothers Frank & Donny Denbrock.
