Obituary for Pauline F. Rimes

Pauline F.  Rimes
Pauline F. Rimes, 92, of Coldwater, passed away on Wednesday, December 10, 2014 due to complications from a fall.

A funeral service will take place on Saturday, December 13, 2014 at 10:30 AM at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater with Rev. Fr. Mark Vyverman of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church officiating. Interment will follow at Lakeview Cemetery in Quincy. Visitation will be Friday, December 12, 2014 from 2- 4:00 and 6 – 8:00 PM at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater.

Pauline was born June 9, 1922 to John and Celia (Balewski) Sawka in Wilmerding, PA. She married Oliver W. Rimes on December 24, 1936. He preceded her in death on November 10, 1984.

She was a hostess at Gracie O’Shanahans for many years. She along with her husband owned and operated Rimes Cigar Store (1945-47), Jacob’s Music Company (1947-55), Tri State Bait (1955-80) and Battery Service (1980 – 84). Pauline was a member St. Charles Catholic Church, and Coldwater Eagles Lodge. She enjoyed reading, playing bingo and euchre. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Pauline is survived by her daughter, Barbara Ann Rimes of Coldwater, 5 grandchildren, Marlene Middel (Bobby Mosley) of Houston, TX, Jackie Halliwell of Quincy, Karen (Scott) Walls of Quincy, David (Patty) Snellenberger of Coldwater, Alicia (Joe) Gross of Quincy, 8 great grandchildren and 5 great, great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and her daughter Dorothy Frances Middel.
