Orvis King, 88 of Union City passed away on Monday, November 24, 2014 at the Community Health Center of Branch County.

In following Orvis’ wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, December 5, 2014 at Girard United Methodist Church with Pastor Cydney Idsingna officiating. Interment will take place at a later date.

Orvis was born September 9, 1926 to Charles and Phoebe (Wood) Henry in Burlington. Shortly after graduation from Union City High School, Orvis married the love of her life, Carl W. King on July 31, 1945 in Burlington. She worked many years at the Coldwater Regional Center State Home, retiring upon the closing on the facility.

Orvis was known for her feisty personality. She enjoyed doing needle point and crochet work in her spare time. Mostly she loved being involved with her family.

Mrs. King is survived by her husband of 69 years Carl King; her sons Michael C. King of Coldwater and Kevin C. King of Union City; many grandchildren & great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter Corliss Fleming; and her brother Stewart Henry.
