Catherine T. Talpa, 90, of Coldwater, passed away on Wednesday, September 10, 2014 at her daughter’s home.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are being cared for by Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater.
Catherine was born January 27, 1924 in Margaritte, PA to Joseph & Mary Dudek. She married Stanley J. Talpa in October,1944, he preceded her in death in July,1976.
Catherine was a dedicated wife, mother and homemaker. She came to Coldwater in 1986 after spending most of her life in the Detroit area. Mrs. Talpa attended St. Charles Borromeo Church and enjoyed flower gardening and crossword puzzles. She loved to crochet afghan’s and baby blankets and frequently donated them to the women’s shelter.
Catherine is survived by her daughter Theresa (Don) Ankney of Coldwater, her grandchildren Donald (Pam) Ankney of Lexington, KY, Kaylene (Tim) Hill of Battle Creek, Kathy (B.J.) Hinkle of Freeland, John S. Talpa of Kalamazoo and 6 step great grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was also preceded in death by her son John Gerald Talpa in 2005 and 8 brothers and sisters.
