Doris D. Darling, 78, of Coldwater, passed away on Monday, September 1, 2014 at Borgess Medical Center in Kalamazoo.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, September 4, 2014 at 2:00 PM at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater. The family will receive friends, prior to the service, beginning at 1:00 PM at Dutcher Funeral Home.
Doris was born May 25, 1936 in Alpena, MI. She married Dean Darling, he preceded her in death in 1998.
Doris was a dedicated wife, mother and homemaker her entire life. She had also worked at the former Carriage Inn Convalescent Center and waitressed at local restaurants. Doris enjoyed cooking and taking care of her family and held a special place in her heart for her grandchildren.
Doris is survived by her children Gregory (Cathy) Kortman of Tekonsha, Cindy (Leonard) Hundleson of Kinderhook, Peggy Gieson of Arizona, Mary (Donald) Jacobs and Tim Kortman all of Coldwater, her sister Barbara, several grand and great grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was also preceded in death by her daughter Donna Winger in 2004, her parents and many brothers and sisters.
