Eleanor “Tommy” D. Gray, 83, of Coldwater, passed away peacefully on Friday, Aug. 29, 2014 at Drew’s Place of Coldwater with her loving family by her side. Now she is in the arms of the love of her life.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, Sept. 4, 2014 at 11 a.m. at St. Charles Borromeo Church, with Rev. Fr. Mark Vyverman officiating. Burial will be at Oak Grove Cemetery in Coldwater at a later date. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2014 from 5-8 p.m., with a Rosary to begin at 6:00 p.m. at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater.
Eleanor was born Sept. 1, 1930 in Gary, IN to Michael and Valaria (Mikos) Tomaszewski. She married Elwin “Bud” Gray Sept. 6, 1952 Gary, IN; he preceded in death June 7, 2002.
Eleanor worked as a Registered Nurse at the Community Health Center of Branch County, and then she worked for the Coldwater Regional Center retiring in 1986.
Eleanor was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Church and the Polish Women’s Alliance. She enjoyed reading, knitting, playing cards, bingo and most of all Eleanor loved being with her grandchildren.
Eleanor is survived by her son Christopher Gray of Leonidas, MI, daughters Kathleen Kobreek of Kalamazoo, MI, Susan (Paul) Alaimo of Enfield, CT, Barbara (Todd) Carpenter of Quincy, MI, Laura (Robert) Brockway of Climax, MI; grandchildren Danielle (Matthew) Webb, Michael Kobreek, Erica Brockway, Sarah Alaimo, Brendan Brockway, Michael Alaimo. In addition to her husband, and parents she was preceded in death by a brother Monsignor Michael Tomaszewski.
