Dorothy M. Houck, 85, of Coldwater, passed away on Wednesday August 20, 2014 in Coldwater.
The funeral service will be Monday August 25, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater with Pastor Dennis Little of the Church of the Rock officiating. Interment will follow at Lakeview Cemetery in Quincy. Visitation will be Monday August 25, 2014 from 9:00 a.m. until time of service at Dutcher Funeral Home.
Dorothy was born May 1, 1929 in Butler Twp., MI to Olin & Maude (Carpenter) Schafer. She married Roy Houck on October 15, 1976, he preceded her in death in 1986.
Mrs. Houck owned and operated Dorothy’s Bakery in Coldwater and Quincy for 18 years. She had also managed many Stuckey’s stores across the country. Dorothy was very creative and enjoyed a wide variety of crafts.
Dorothy is survived by her daughters Charlotte (Marvin) Schafer of Palmyra, VA, Christine (Thomas) Goheen of Coldwater, her sisters Ruth (LaMar) Johnson of Coldwater, Darlene (Roger) Hephner of Camden, 4 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was also preceded in death by her granddaughter Sheila Schafer.
