Kip P. O’Neill, 51, of Coldwater, passed away on Friday, August 8, 2014 at Houghton Lake, Michigan.
A funeral will be held on Thursday, August 14, 2014 at 12:00 Noon at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater with Pastor David Pierce of the First Baptist Church officiating. Interment will follow at Bronson Cemetery. Visitation will be held prior to the service on Thursday, beginning at 10:00 A.M.
Kip was born October 19, 1962 in Hudson, Michigan to Herbert and Patricia A. (Bair) O’Neill. He married Patricia A. Rifenburgh on May 19, 1990. Kip had worked as a deputy for the Hillsdale County Sheriff’s Department, the corrections facility in Coldwater and recently has worked at Pugsley State Prison in northern Michigan.
Kip was an avid outdoorsman; enjoying hunting, fishing, motorcycling, and trail riding. He loved spending time at his place at Houghton Lake with family and friends. He was a kind, loving and caring man; who cared deeply about his loved ones. He was an awesome Dad and grandfather.
Kip is survived by his wife Pat O’Neill, his children Matt (Ashley) McCormick of TX, Melissa O’Neill and Cole O’Neill, both of Coldwater, his mother Patricia O’Neill of AZ, his siblings Valerie D’Alfonso of Flat Rock, MI, Michael O’Neill of OH and Vicki (Duane) Amato of Sutton’s Bay, MI and his grandchildren Emily & Ian McCormick. He was preceded in death by his father Herbert in 2004.
