Harold W. “Bill” Petch, 72, of Coldwater, passed away on Wednesday, July 16, 2014 at Borgess Medical Center in Kalamazoo, MI.
Funeral services will be held Monday July 21, 2014 2:00 p.m. at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater, MI with Reverend Jeff Bream of Northview Christian Church officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery in Coldwater. Military Honors provided by American Legion Post 52 Drill Team. Visitation will be Sunday July 20, 2014 from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Bill was born January 13, 1942 in Coldwater, MI to Harold J. Petch and Esther Lawton. He married Mary Schwartz June 13, 1962 in Coldwater, MI.
Bill graduated from Coldwater High School in 1960. He was a veteran of Vietnam War serving in the US Army.
He owned and operated Petch’s Floor Covering., then worked at J.B. Branches and Company, and then he retired from Monarch Community Bank in 2005.
Bill was a former member of the Branch County Antique Auto Club, member of NHRA and Model T Ford Club International. He loved to work on antique cars, and have coffee with his buddies every day. Most of all he loved and enjoyed being with his granddaughters.
Bill is survived by his wife: Mary, his son: Tony (Lisa) Petch of Tekonsha MI, his granddaughters: Jessica A. Bailey, Landon L. Baily, and Katie H. Petch, his sister: Genevieve (David) Jennings, his uncle: Robert (Mary) Lawton, his Aunts: Gertrude Stayner, and Arlene Munger. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter: Kimberly Ann Bailey in 2011, his son-in-law: Jessrick L. Bailey, his sister: Barbara Petch, his infant brother, and his infant sister.
