Margaret Aileen “Peggy” Brower, 83 of Coldwater passed away on Monday, July 07, 2014 at Maple Lawn Medical Care Facility.
The family will be having a memorial service on Thursday, July 10, 2014 at 3:00 PM at the First United Methodist Church in Bronson with Pastor Terry Siler officiating. Interment will be on Monday, July 14 at 12:00 PM at Fort Custer National Cemetery in Augusta, MI. The family is being served by Dutcher-Kolcz Funeral Home.
Margaret was born March 30, 1931 in Kinderhook Township to Harry and Hazel (Root) Knauss. After graduation from Bronson High School, she began her career in accounting at WTVB as a book-keeper and also hosted her own radio show. Peggy increased her accounting knowledge by working with different local manufacturing companies. She retired in 1991 after spending many years with Xerox. On November 28, 1954, Margaret married the love of her life Earl Brower at the First Congregational Church in Bronson.
Peggy was a loving daughter, wife, and mother. She was involved in the Bronson community through church, the food pantry, and as a 60 year member of the Bronson Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star as well as serving as Matron. Peggy enjoyed reading and watching television when at home. She was an avid Detroit Tigers fan. Peggy and Earl enjoyed traveling the country, especially taking bus trips after her retirement. She will be missed by many.
Margaret is survived by her husband of 59 years, Earl Brower of Coldwater; her sons Paul Brower of Coldwater and Michael (Kathy Marshall) Brower of Sunnyville, CA; many nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters Nellie Rierson, Elsie Schaffer, and Mary Chard.
