Obituary for Roy A. Arney

Roy A. Arney, 72, of Coldwater, passed away on Tuesday, May 6, 2014 at his sister Maron’s home.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are being cared for by Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater.
Roy was born July 11, 1941 in Sherwood, MI to Aura J. & Letha L. (Sanford) Arney. He served in the US Naval Reserves and married Donna M. Gilson on June 7, 1975 in Union City, MI.
Mr. Arney was a tool & die maker, working for United Brass Manufacturing in Romulus for 25 years, retiring in 2004. He had previously been a trooper with the state police for 5 years. After retirement, Roy went to work for the Coldwater Home Depot where he worked for 8 years.
Roy was an avid golfer and loved to watch TV. He was most proud of his family and treasured the time they spent together, especially with his children and grandchildren.
Roy is survived by his wife Donna, his sons Bradley (Denise) Arney of Grand Rapids, Darrel (Rhonda) Arney of Newaygo, Timothy (Kathy) Arney of Stanwood, his daughter Andrea Gilson of Saline, his brothers and sisters Harold (Jane) Arney of Florida, Ethel Howell of Colon, Maron Bigler of Coldwater, Carol (Don) Marler of Texas, Kurt (Sharon) Arney of Coldwater and several grand and great grandchildren. Roy was preceded in death by his parents and two grandchildren.
