Obituary for Harold J. Ransbottom

Harold J.  Ransbottom
Harold Junior Ransbottom, 86, of Bronson, passed away on April 8, 2014 at his home.
The family will hold a memorial service to honor Harold’s life at a later date. Arrangements are being cared for by Dutcher-Kolcz Funeral Home in Bronson.
Harold was born November 25, 1927 in LaGrange, IN to Harold D. and Sarah J. (Wells) Ransbottom. While in high school he decided to enlist in the US Army. He served honorably and was a veteran of WW II. After returning to Bronson, he married the love of his life Florence Rinehart on April 9, 1949. Harold retired from Douglas Manufacturing in 1990 after a 40 year career.
Harold was a loving family man. He was a man of faith and a member of 1st United Methodist Church in Bronson. Harold was a member of both the Bronson & Orland American Legions. He had many hobbies including hunting and fishing. He especially enjoyed spending time watching all youth sports.
Harold is survived by his son Carl (Evelyn) Ransbottom of Bronson; his daughter Diana Barker of Bronson; his sister Alverta Sprague of Auburn, IN; 5 grand-children, 12 great grand-children and 1 great, great grand-child. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Florence Ransbottom; his son Jim Ransbottom and three brothers and one sister.
Memorials may be directed to BYRA (Bronson Youth Recreation Assn.).
