Janet Arey, 73, of Quincy, passed away on Tuesday, February 11, 2014 at her home.
The family will receive friends on Monday, February 17, 2014 from 5-8:00 PM at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater. Cremation has taken place and interment will be at a later date in Mason Cemetery.
Janet was born April 22, 1940 in Coldwater, MI to Damon & Charlotte (Dickey) Burlew. She graduated from Coldwater High School in 1958 and married Norman O. Arey on June 6, 1959 in Coldwater.
Mrs. Arey worked at the Community Health Center of Branch County for 20 years in both the xray department and registration. She was a member of the Coldwater United Methodist Church, the Sigma Phi Gamma Sorority and a former member and officer of the Coldwater Jaycees. Janet was very active in her childrens’ activities including Little League and she was an avid reader. She loved life on the lake and enjoyed the time she spent with her family, especially her many grandchildren.
Janet is survived by her husband Norm, her children Tanis (Rodney) Carpenter, Tim (Shelby) Arey all of Quincy, Tonia (Ken) Taylor of Coldwater, her sister Jane (David) Bonfiglio of Quincy, her grandchildren Dustin, Nicole, Rachel, Brandon, Kelsey, Amanda, Courtney, Tai, Jessica, Luke, Andrew, Austin and 11 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her sister Joan Burlew.
