Obituary for Donald Jordon

Donald R. Jordon, 79, of Jonesville, formerly of Bronson, passed away on Saturday, October 26, 2013 at Hillsdale Medical Care Facility.
The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 30, 2013 at 11:00 AM at the First Baptist Church in Bronson with Pastor John Fields officiating. Interment will follow at Bronson Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 29, 2013 from 4 - 8:00 PM at Dutcher-Kolcz Funeral Home in Bronson.
Donald was born October 9, 1934 in Jackson, MI to June W. & Margaret (Straw) Jordon. He married Audrey Smith on June 13, 1953 in Marshall. She preceded him in death on June 18, 2012.
Mr. Jordon had worked at a farm implement store and as a mechanic for Courtesy Ford in Marshall, but devoted most of his life to the mission ministry. He was an ordained minister and together with his wife, spent 12 years with the African Inland Mission and another 11 years with the Scripture Memory Mountain Mission in Emmalena, KY. Don served as one of the Chaplains for Forgotten Man Ministries at the Branch Co. Jail from 1991 – 2008. He had also served as a minister at the former Kinderhook Congregational Church. Don was a member of the First Baptist Church in Bronson and was an avid woodworker.
Donald is survived by his sons Donald (Jodi) Jordon of New London, MN, Paul (Susan) Jordon of Columbus, OH, his daughters Diane (Steve) Brattain of Leslie, Marjorie (Jeff) Barton of Allen, Kathy (Ray) Krontz of Bronson, his sister June (Gordon) Lawhead of Coldwater, 15 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his brother Bob Jordon.
Memorials may be directed to the Forgotten Man Ministries of Branch Co. or Scripture Memory Mountain Mission in Emmalena, KY.
