Obituary for Charles "Chuck" Young

Charles “Chuck” Young, 73, of Coldwater, passed away on Saturday, October 12, 2013 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
The funeral service will be Wednesday, October 16, 2013 at 11:00 AM at the United Methodist Church in Coldwater with Pastor Steve Young officiating. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 15, 2013 from 3 -8:00 PM at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater. Interment will take place at a later date at Oak Grove Cemetery in Coldwater.
Charles was born March 9, 1940 in Butler, Indiana to Charles C. & Helen P. (Webb) Young. He married Dorothy Carlisle on December 19, 1964 in Coldwater.
Mr. Young was a lifelong resident of Coldwater, graduating from Coldwater High School in 1958, where he was “Mayor” of the student council. Chuck owned and operated the former Carlisle Co. in Coldwater from 1978 until it’s closing in 2006. He had also worked at Eaton Corp. in Marshall for many years.
Chuck was a member of the United Methodist Church in Coldwater, a 25 year member of the Noon Rotary and served on the city council for 2 ½ years. He enjoyed fishing, playing golf and tennis, and traveling, especially on color tours. Chuck was a great dancer and loved to go out dancing with his wife Dot. He was a dedicated family man who especially enjoyed his grandchildren and attending their many sporting activities.
Chuck is survived by his wife Dot, his sons Scott Young & Tara, Andy Young & Zetave all of Coldwater, his stepmother Julie Young of Coldwater, his grandchildren Ally, Megan & Mindy Young, Taryn & Taylor Young, his sisters-in-law Ann E. Carlisle of Colorado Springs, CO, Mary (Steve) Monsma of Grand Rapids, his very close friends Tom & Sharon Reaume of Little Peninsula, OH, Reggie & Autumn Ivey of Quincy and many other friends, too numerous to mention. He was preceded in death by both his parents.
