Obituary for Edmund Zaioczkowski

Edmund “Ed” Zaioczkowski, 75, of Coldwater, passed away on Wednesday, March 20, 2013 at his home.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 30, 2013 at 1:00 P.M. at the Jonesville United Methodist Church, 203 Concord Rd, Jonesville, MI 49250. Cremation has taken place and no other services will be held.
Ed was born on April 22, 1937 in Detroit, Michigan to Edmund and Pauline (Kusch) Zaioczkowski. He graduated from Wyandotte High School in 1955 and served honorably in the U.S. Army Reserve for several years. He married Edna Best and they later divorced after being married for 15 years. She preceded him in death on February of 2003. He later married Elsie Hollers and she preceded him in death in June 2010 after 33 years of marriage.
Ed loved farming and working the land. He started at the age of 11, working for just a dollar a day at a local farm. He farmed for many years of his life in Hillsdale County. He also worked in commercial construction in the Detroit area for many years. He retired from the former Joba, Inc. in Taylor, MI in 1987 and then owned and operated Eddie Z Construction for several years.
Mr. Zaioczkowski had lived in many different places through the years including; Cadillac, Jonesville and recently moved to Coldwater in October 2011. Ed was always joking around and loved to go to fast food restaurants and hassle the waitresses.
Ed is survived by his son Joseph P. Zaioczkowski of Taylor, his daughter Debra (James Jennings) Zaioczkowski-Jennings of Wyandotte, his grandchildren Jerimy (Teresa) Zaioczkowski, Jason (Lena) Zaioczkowski, Tim Zaioczkowski and Amber Zaioczkowski and his great-grandchildren Xavier, Alex and Lila Zaioczkowski.
In addition to his wives, he was also preceded in death by his parents and his brother Dick Zaioczkowski.
