Obituary for Nettie E. Zabonick

Nettie E. Zabonick, 85, of Coldwater, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, January 8, 2013 at the Community Health Center of Branch County.
The funeral will be Saturday, January 12, 2013 at 2:00 PM at Lockwood Community Church in Coldwater with Pastor Shayne Looper officiating. Interment will follow at Mason Cemetery. Visitation will be held prior to the service, beginning at 1:00 PM at the church. Arrangements are being cared for by Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater.
Nettie was born December 16, 1927 in Branch Co., MI to Erven & Dollie (Stokes) Densel. She married Clarence “Bud” Zabonick on April 1, 1944 in Coldwater and together they have celebrated 68 years of marriage.
Mrs. Zabonick was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker. She spent 18 years in child care, from her home, taking care of many children as well as her own grandchildren. Nettie had also worked at Mack’s Lunch for 4 years and the Starlite Drive Inn for 7 years, both formerly of Coldwater. She was a member of Lockwood Community Church and enjoyed indoor flowers. Nettie loved cooking for her family and the many gatherings they spent together. She was a very giving woman who loved being a mother and grandmother. Nettie lived to care for her family and her beloved pets. Her cat Barney and her dog Pepper were very special to her.
Nettie is survived by her husband Bud, her son Clarence Jr. “Jake” (Sandy) Zabonick, her daughter Pennie L. (James) Starr all of Coldwater, her grandchildren Amanda (Sean) Fitzpatrick of Waterville, OH, Nikki (James) Yun of Roseburg, OR, Aaron (Kathy) Zabonick of Coldwater, Jennica (John) Roush of Quincy, Tonya (William) Hightower of Atlanta, GA, 18 great grandchildren and 1 great, great grandchild.
Memorials may be directed to the Branch Co. Humane Society.
