Edna M. “Muggins” Olmsted, 94, of Coldwater, died Sunday, July 24, 2011 at her home.


Edna was born in Coldwater, MI on July 14, 1917 to Harry J. & Leone Amanda (Hill) Smith. She married Kenneth Olmsted on May 1, 1954 in Marshall. He preceded her in death on July 29, 1988.


Mrs. Olmsted was a registered nurse and had worked at the Community Health Center of Branch Co. for many years.


Edna is survived by her three children Jim Olmsted of Coldwater, Jill (Tom) Oldfield of Portage and Kay Lynn Olmsted of Salem, S. Carolina, her grandchildren Michael (Megan) Oldfield, Jonathan (Rhe) Oldfield, Katherine (Jake) Lenhardt and Emily (Richard Parshall) Olmsted. In addition to her husband, she was also preceded in death by her brothers Boyd Smith, W. Wade Smith and her sister Virginia Pierce.


A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorials may be directed to the Branch Co. Library or Lifespan Good Samaritan Hospice. Arrangements are being cared for by Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater
