Obituary for Bertha N. Elkins

Bertha N. Elkins, 70, of Coldwater, passed away on Sunday, April 15, 2012 at the Community Health Center of Branch Co.
The funeral service for Bertha will be held on Wednesday, April 18, 2012 at 11:00 AM at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Coldwater with Pastor Curt Adams officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery in Coldwater. Visitation will be Tuesday, April 17, 2012 from 2-4 & 6-8:00 PM at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater.
Bertha was born October 4, 1941 in Pike Co., Kentucky to Ballard & Myrtle (Johnson) Trivette. She married John W. Elkins on August 11, 1954 in Kentucky.
Mrs. Elkins was a dedicated wife, mother and homemaker. She was a caregiver to many but her family was her greatest joy, especially her many grandchildren. Bertha was a great cook, she enjoyed the outdoors, fishing and camping and loved to play Bingo, cards and explore yard sales. Bertha had been an active member of the Union Church in Quincy and currently attended St. Paul Lutheran Church in Coldwater.
Bertha is survived by her husband John, her children John R. Elkins, Ed (Sue) Elkins all of Coldwater, Cyndi Crandall of Battle Creek, Scott (Gaytha) Elkins of Coldwater, her brothers George (Kenlin) Trivette of Arkansas, Floyd Belcher, Arvil (Vickie) Bryant all of Litchfield, her sisters Oda (George) Caudill of Litchfield, Lea (Virdell) Elkins of Coldwater, her grandchildren Lynn, Amy, Angie, Jonathan, Elisha, Erin, Laura, Emmi, Chase, Chelsea, Tristan, Katie, Josh, Amy, Breanna, Keegan, Carson and Karissa, 21 great grandchildren and 1 great -great grandchild.
