Obituary for Natalie VanWormer

Natalie J. VanWormer, 79, of Union City, passed away on Monday, May 28, 2012 at her home.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, June 16, 2012, at Union City Wesleyan Church with Pastor Marty Burdick officiating. A reception for family and friends will follow at the church fellowship hall. Funeral arrangements are being cared for by Dutcher Funeral Home.

Natalie was born April 13, 1933 in Battle Creek, Michigan to Nathaniel George and Mary Lucille (Wiesen) Hicks. She was preceded in death by her first husband Lyle T. Munyon, she married R.B. VanWormer in February 1959, he preceded her in 1978.

Mrs. VanWormer had worked at Clark Equipment in Battle Creek for a year after her graduation from Gull Lake High School in 1951. Natalie moved from Battle Creek making Union City her home since 1965. She attended the Union City Wesleyan Church and had worked as a cook at the City Restaurant in Union City for 30 years.

Natalie touched so many lives with her loving and generous spirit. She always put others ahead of herself.

Natalie is survived by her sons Roger (Debbie) Munyon of Grand Rapids, Mark Munyon (Mary Wadsworth) of Union City, Tim (Bobbi Joe) VanWormer of Battle Creek, Kevin VanWormer of Coldwater, her daughters Yvonne Valentine of Union City and Carla (Randy) Ram of Coldwater, brother William Hicks of Battle Creek, 13 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by her daughter Penny Burton and her brother Richard Dean Hicks.
