Obituary for Audrey I. Jordon

Audrey I. Jordon, 77, of Jonesville, formerly of Bronson, passed away on Monday, June 18, 2012 at the Community Health Center of Branch County.
The funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 21, 2012 at 11:00 AM at the First Baptist Church in Coldwater with Pastor John Fields from the First Baptist Church of Bronson officiating. Interment will follow at Bronson Cemetery. The visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 20, 2012 from 2- 8:00 PM at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater.
Audrey was born June 10, 1935 in Battle Creek to Delos & Belva (Shoup) Smith. She married Donald R. Jordon on June 13, 1953 in Marshall.
Audrey spent most of her life in the Branch and Calhoun Co. area, graduating from Tekonsha High School. She graduated from Olivet College with her Bachelor’s Degree in English in 1967, and then earned her Master’s Degree from MSU in 1974. She taught high school English in Leslie Public Schools for 7 years and then substitute taught for 3 years in the Coldwater Community Schools. Mrs. Jordon, along with her husband, devoted much of her life to the mission ministry. They spent 12 years with the African Inland Mission and another 11 years with the Scripture Memory Mountain Mission in Emmalena, KY. Audrey also served as one of the female Chaplains for Forgotten Man Ministries at the Branch County Jail. She was a member of the Bronson First Baptist Church and enjoyed reading, working crossword puzzles and spending time with her family.
Audrey is survived by her husband Donald at Hillsdale Medical Care Facility, her sons Donald (Jodi) Jordon of New London, MN, Paul (Susan) Jordon of Columbus, OH, her daughters Diane (Steve) Brattain of Leslie, Marjorie (Jeff) Barton of Allen, Kathy (Ray) Krontz of Bronson, her sisters Patricia (Walt) VanWinkel of Tekonsha, Joyce Pederson of Iowa, Geraldine Smith of Bardstown, KY, Beverly Hemmis of Florida, 15 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by 4 brothers and sisters.
Memorials may be directed to the Forgotten Man Ministries of Branch CO. or Scripture Memory Mountain Mission in Emmalena, KY.
