Ruth C. Adams, 91, of Coldwater, passed away on July 9, 2012 at Masonville House.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 12, 2012 from 1-5:00 PM at the Hostetler residence, 506 Northside Drive in Coldwater. Arrangements are being cared for by Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater.
Ruth was born March 25, 1921 in Blaine, Washington to Cyril & Helen (Russell) Kellso. She married Glen E. Adams on June 21, 1943 in Columbia, SC, he preceded her in death on July 23, 2006.
Mrs. Adams graduated from Wayne State College in 1941 with a Degree in Elementary Education. She had taught for a few years in the Decatur, MI public schools and later worked for over 20 years in the Kalamazoo Public Schools teaching 2nd grade.
Ruth and Glen moved to Masonville in Coldwater in 2005. She enjoyed needlework and crewel embroidery and was an avid reader. Ruth loved to travel but most of all she loved to spend time with her family.
Ruth is survived by her daughters Audrey Hostetler of Coldwater, Marilyn Huey of Ashville, AL, her sons Glen (Barb) Adams of Heartland, WI, Doug Adams of Elgin, IL, her grandchildren Amorak (Ellen Schendel) Huey, Silas (Becky Brumme) Huey, Robert (Justine) Hostetler, Matt Hostetler, Nathan Adams, Becky Adams, David( Emilia) Adams, Michael (Annie) Adams and 12 great grandchildren. In addition to her husband, Ruth was preceded in death by her son Paul Adams in 1988, her son-in-law David Hostetler in 1999, 2 sisters and 1 brother.
