Obituary for Thomas W. Ostrander

Thomas W. Ostrander, 74, of Allen, passed away on Wednesday, August 29, 2012 at his home.
A memorial service for Tom will be held on Saturday, September 1, 2012 at 4:00 PM at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater with Celebrant Linda Sisco officiating. Private interment will be at Lakeview Cemetery in Quincy at a later date. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Friday, August 31, 2012 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the funeral home and again on Saturday prior to the service, beginning at 3:00 PM.
Tom was born June 12, 1938 in Jackson to Royce M. and Maxine (Warner) Ostrander. He married Karen J. Olmstead on March 26, 1977 in Jackson, she survives. Mr. Ostrander had worked for McCann Farm Equipment, later known as Hadley Farm Equipment in Coldwater for 30 years. After that, he had owned and operated Professional Farm Service in Allen for 20 years until ill health forced him to retire. He attended East Ovid United Brethren Church and enjoyed hunting and traveling.
In addition to his wife Karen, he is survived by sons John (Karen) Ostrander of Ridge Manor, FL, Donald (Terri) Ostrander of Coldwater, David (Brenda) Ostrander of Tustin, Matthew (Lonna) Pepper of Quincy, Christopher (Sara) Ostrander of Coldwater, daughter June (Perry) Fosdick of Montgomery, brothers Rex ( Henri) Ostrander of Chase, Walt (Barb) Ostrander of Jackson, sisters Marian (Gail) Reardon of Spring Arbor, Virginia Marsh of Parma, 26 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Max Ostrander, his daughter-in-law Tammi (Winter) Ostrander and granddaughter Kirsten Mosher.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the charity of one’s choice.
